Getting to ConFurgence

By Car

The Amora Hotel Riverwalk is located in Richmond, in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The hotel is located 7 kms away from the CBD, and 30 kms from Melbourne Airport. Parking is available on site, please contact the hotel for more information. A Taxi fare from the CBD should cost around $23, while Uber should cost about $20.

Public Transport

The easiest public transport option to get to the Amora Hotel is via tram, with both the route 48 and 75 trams stopping right outside the hotel (Stop 22 – Yarra Blvd).

These trams also go past the following train stations:

48 – Southern Cross, Parliament, Jolimont

75 – Flinders Street, Jolimont, Hawthorn, Hartwell, Burwood

If you wish to travel on Melbourne’s public transport network, you will need a Myki smartcard. Mykis can be bought from train stations, 7-Elevens and some tram stops, as well as Melbourne Airport. New cards cost $6, and must be loaded with funds before use.

Melbourne Airport

Located about 20 km to the north-west of the city, Melbourne Airport receives flights from all the major airlines, both domestic and international.

Skybus is the main shuttle bus company for Melbourne Airport, running express shuttles to Southern Cross Station – the main bus and interstate train terminal.

It runs 24 hours, with departures every 10 minutes during the day and well into the evening. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the journey, traffic permitting.

Skybus stops are outside T1 (Qantas Domestic) and T3 (Virgin Australia/Regional Express), with pickups only from T4 (Jetstar/Tigerair). If you’re coming from T2 (International flights) make your way to the T3 stop for pickup or drop off.

Fares: One-way $18, Return $35. Tickets may be bought online, as well as from ticket booths at Skybus stops.

Licensed taxis in Victoria are generally coloured in yellow with some exceptions. Taxis to the hotel cost about $76 one way for a standard cab. Late night fares and maxi cabs cost extra.

Uber is now available for pickup directly from Melbourne Airport, with Terminal 1, 2 and 3 passengers picking up their vehicle from Lane 1 of the public pick up zone, and Terminal 4 passengers from inside the Transport Hub on Level 2. Fares should be approximately $53 one way.

Car Rental/Pickup

There are six car rental companies available in the arrivals hall, if you wish for your own vehicle while in Melbourne. There are also a variety of short and long term parking options available at the airport, including pickup and drop off points.
